Our Story

Built on Compassion, Driven by Purpose.

Founded in 2018 by Unyime Uboho, WOCH Foundation was born from a single conviction: that no woman should suffer from poverty, and no child should grow up without access to education and healthcare.

Our Mission

What We Do

To uplift vulnerable women and children through education, empowerment, healthcare support, advocacy, and sustainable community development initiatives that create lasting change.

Our Vision

Where We're Going

A society where every woman and child can thrive with dignity, equality, opportunity, and hope — a world where potential is never limited by poverty, gender, or geography.

Our Foundation Story

WOCH Foundation was established in 2018 by Unyime Uboho, a passionate advocate for women's rights and child welfare. Having witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of poverty, gender inequality, and lack of access to education in her community, Unyime dedicated her life to creating systemic change.

What began as a small community initiative in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has grown into a nationally recognized NGO serving over 87 communities across 6 states in Nigeria. With a team of 45 dedicated staff and over 300 volunteers, WOCH Foundation has transformed more than 43,000 lives since inception.

Today, WOCH Foundation operates seven flagship programs spanning women's empowerment, child education, healthcare outreach, food security, skills acquisition, rural development, and advocacy — each designed not just for immediate relief, but for generational transformation.

Our Core Values

The Principles That Guide Everything We Do

These six values are not just words on a wall — they are the daily operating principles of every staff member, volunteer, and partner.

Compassion

We lead with empathy and care for every individual we serve, treating each person with dignity and respect.

Integrity

Every naira donated is accounted for. We operate with full transparency and publish annual impact reports.

Empowerment

We don't just provide aid — we build capacity, skills, and confidence so communities can sustain themselves.

Inclusion

Every program is designed to reach the most marginalized — rural women, orphaned children, and disabled youth.

Impact-Driven

We measure everything. Every program is evaluated for real-world outcomes, not just activities completed.

Community First

Local voices lead. We design programs with communities, not for them, ensuring cultural relevance and ownership.

Founder's Message

A Word From Unyime Uboho

"When I founded WOCH Foundation in 2018, I had no idea how far we would come. What I knew was simple: I had seen too many brilliant women crushed by poverty, too many children growing up without the tools they needed to thrive. I could not look away."

"Today, I am humbled and inspired by what our community — our donors, volunteers, staff, and most importantly, our beneficiaries — has built together. We are not a charity that delivers handouts. We are a movement that delivers hope."

"To every donor, every volunteer, every partner who has believed in our vision: thank you. You are the reason 43,000 lives have been changed. And we are just getting started."
